How to aim and shoot?

I did not realize that this game is not compatible with a mouse. How exactly do I aim and shoot? I can start up the crosshairs but I cannot exactly launch the projectile to the desired location. Instead I end up pressing the crosshair button twice and throwing the object to wherever the character is looking.

Did you try holding and releasing the button? That's how it's done on a controller.

Hold the attack button, aim with movement keys and either release the button to attack if it is locking on targets or hold the button while keeping the crosshair at the target when it is a beam attack instead.

Hold down H to aim, then relese it to shoot.

I almost never get a crosshair with my keyboard so it's impossible to aim,anyone knows why?
