Taking Liberties (Mastermind) Bug

During the Taking Liberties boss battle (11th level of the story), Mastermind takes control of Wolverine and you have to deal 4 hearts of damage in order to allow him to break the control. According to YouTube videos, you're supposed to get a notification telling you to switch to Wolverine (Y on the Xbox controller) and then punch yourself (B) until you're back to normal. I'm not getting any of these notifications though, and if I switch to Wolverine I can't switch back. The game keep 'playing' (sound/video keep going as if I'm idle) and no buttons work. I've tried this co-op and single player, and short of re-installing the game I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?

UPDATE:

I found a sort-of fix ages ago, but forgot to mention it. I switched into Big Picture mode and restarted the level (still on my PC). Something about that refreshed the bug and I managed to complete the remainder without issue.

Had this bug as well, had to save at the checkpoint at the start of the battle and if we got stuck with no notification telling us to switch or to press B you have to quit to windows and try again. Don't quit to new york because then you have to do the whole level again.

I'm getting this same bug when playing on two player mode. Can't beat the level. When mastermind takes control of Wolverine I can't break out of the mind control.

Bumped into this bug as well as we were co-opping the mission. Had to drop to desktop, relaunch and then we made sure that it would work by dropping the second player off every time we had to switch to the mind controlled player.

Hi all... This is still an issue as of December 2020 and I reached out to WB. My guess from these posts is that they don't care? In order for my son and I to reach the next level how should I proceed? Play it strictly on my PC? We have been playing it on the NVIDIA SHIELD.

Ditto MRod22. Playing it with my son steaming over Steam Link app to Samsung TV. Going to try it single player just to proceed. Can’t believe they won’t fix a bug as major as this one

Modigy - I played it solo while my kids were out of the house. Worked fine glitch free. I stream it over Steam Link to my Nvidia Shield.

Good luck!!! Now I’m having issues with unlocking Silver Surfer. haha

Guys, I was experimenting this issue with my children, they have two xbox controllers, so what it worked for us, was to use just one controller, and wait till master mind controlls wolverine, mr fantastic, and then the hulk, afterwards, player 2 can join the game.

Just had this issue (2023 on Steam Deck). Had to start the game using external controller instead of built in steam deck controller. Every time I try this section with built in controller the B prompt for the mind controlled Wolverine doesn’t appear and I get stuck.

Try 10 years (game released in 2013).

i had some problems like that recently, and in my case, just mr fantastic bugs and i couldnt use it... but what i did, its, go to the game and properties, check the files of the game and start.
I took me 3 times to pass the "frezze game" that i got.
