"Don't I Know You?" achievement not unlocking

I've basically 100% the game, but this one achievement is holding me back as it won't unlock for some reason. It seems pretty straight forward, as all you need to do is team up Captain America and Human Torch. Except nothing happens when I do that. Looking around the internet it seems a few other people had issues and had various suggestions. I've tried doing it single player, co-op with two controllers, tried both Captain America costumes, tried Human Torch with and without his flame on, and tried in both New York free roam and a mission free play. No combination ever triggers the achievement to unlock. Anyone else ever encounter this? Any suggestions???

After weeks of unsuccessful attempts with this achievement, I finally got it to trigger tonight. Using two controllers and two separately controlled players, I entered a free play for a mission and chose Captain America and Human Torch on each controller. And it worked, even though I had tried this several times before. The weird thing? None of the villains on that level had any hands after I did this :S Glitches be crazy...

I was struggling to get it too but I went into a co-op mission and then it unlocked

This post is from march 2016 and the OP already responded that they got it already.

Although yes for me it didnt work until I entered an actual mission so anybody having issues with this try it in a free play mission.
