Open world?

I read from a review that this game has a "really big" (His words not mine) open world. WHERE IS IT? I've done like 2 missions already, no open world. Is there even one? I think there would be, comsidering loading tips say something about driving, and Iron Man & Spiderman both have an air traversial ability that is never put to use in the mission. So you would assume that would be used to travel the city. But I'm about to start the third mission, with Black Widow and Hawkeye, no open world yet...

I'm at the same scenario within my game.. just made the Easter discount purchase and have yet to see the open world or map to navigate levels.

Um, it is how all LEGO games work (LEGO Worlds excluded, because that's more of a sandbox than an actual LEGO game). If you've ever played any of the other LEGO games, you'll find that there is definite completion thing that goes on.

Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham is an open world very early in the game, same with Lego Movie Video Game. You do have to always complete the current level stage you're on before advancing, sure, but it's an open world. This game is different, even after three levels it's all story book mode, no back tracking to collect or change of characters in Free Play mode. Usually, you are able to do this immediately after each levels story book completion.

I played LEGO Star Wars on the PS2, that didn't have open world, same for LEGO Batman on the ps2, as well as LEGO Indiana Jones. So in my experience, LEGO isn't always open world.

Nevermind. After Level 3 it opens up to New York City, and you can access the map to travel which is helpful.

I thought the open world was New York City, and it is the most fun ever! You can use any flying character (I prefer Human Torch) to fly through the large city, and even fly to the hellicarrier yourself. Or, you can spawn in a police car and go around unlocking characters to play as. My favorite thing to do besides flying at full speed is using spiderman to get really high, and then drop through the streets until I finally fwip through the skies and swing really fast!

Yeah the open World is unlocked after the Oscorp Mission and you even get the oppurtunity to Change Chars at the Vehicle Stations!
