The Mana series as a whole has only around 9 million sales.

I don't see any mention of what the sales figures for Visions was other than it happened to hit the top sellers list in Japan with 40,000 sales on launch week, putting it the second weakest launch of the entire Mana series, only beating out Heroes of Mana on the NDS.

Other than that, we really don't have information to say how well or how poorly it did in the rest of the world or after the initial launch week in Japan. So it's mostly just speculation.
Lack of marketing and not putting the game on Switch, I'd say.

Whatever the reason i just hope this doesn't end it all here and now. i've been enjoying mana games since secret of mana on snes (yea i'm a fossil)
The director got swept up by Square so here's hoping more devs from the team wind up there.

For me it's Denuvo.
I don't care that I've got thousands of hours spread throughout the Mana series (mostly Sword of Mana and Legend of Mana), I'm not buying another Denuvo game after Monster Hunter Stories 2's Denuvo broke me.

I can't relate Denuvo doesn't bother me or my pc it stops people from stealing the game tho and i lowkey think anyone who complains about it is just sore they can't steal
I was just about to consider buying it, but then I realized it had denuvo. Also was kinda weirded out about how strange the MC looks.

I can't pirate even if I wanted to, our ISP has a strict lockdown on it and we get spooky letters in the mail the second I so much as look at qBitTorrent for any kind of game piracy, ha.
For me, it's the performance issues, every Denuvo game always has some kind of performance quirk, ranging from something as simple as little frame stutters every few seconds or an FPS that should be 60 dipping down to 50, to something as bad as what happened in MHS2 where the game would straight-up freeze for whole minutes consistently if I let the game run longer than an hour or two.
On top of that, Denuvo often prevents games from being modded, and makes the game require an internet connection, which are 1/2 things that are objective issues that drive people nuts.

Besides, as someone who used to pirate a lot back when I had zero dollars and zero cents, Denuvo doesn't stop piracy, it delays it, it gets cracked eventually, and the pirates get to play the game without having to deal with the Denuvo problems the paying players do.

That's good news. In essence they where part of SE, just Tencent was calling the shots. Let's hope for the best, cause i did enjoy my time with the game.

Consider the source. There is a source, right?

considering the month is released, the team being let go and steamdb its not great but we don't have the dev cost.
I don't think the translation would add much to the bland story in general. FF rebirth was mainly on PS5, so at least on PC it could have sold well.

Cost isn't an issue if the game is at least good for the price, while you get your money's worth its just a drag and just plain average.

Some reasons I can think of

- Lack of great translation.
Many developers failed to see the importance of translation. It is losing not just 1 or 2 players, but easily over 30% of world wide penetration strength. If you don't see complaints such as 救命无法运行游戏 or помогите я не могу запустить игру on the forum, it means the translation support is limited.

- Wrong time
Jan / Feb 2025 is where FF7 remake and other game releasing big patches.

- Too Expensive
For the same mana sword story, the price is higher and higher on each new release.
it also costs more and more to develop games
