The most memorable NG+ games Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are literally just walks in the park Free second runs.
I don't see how this invalidate the critic tough.
Both Hard Mod NG+ and Easy Mode NG+ have existed tough for quite a long time, heck the Mana series have Hard Mode for NG+ since Legend of Mana which was the first to introduce the No Future difficulty for NG+. And since the previous game Trials was eventually patch out to have the option to reset your character to LV1 and added Expert and No Future Mode for those that want a more challenging NG+, it's kinda weird that Visions doesn't have these options by default.
