Questions about Elemental Aeries.
I'm playing on Hard; I am a ways into Chapter 3, and I haven't been able to conquer a single Elemental Aerie yet.

A couple of questions about them -
- Exactly how many waves do they tend to contain? Like if I'm getting down to just one purple enemy on wave 2, is that it, or is there a wave 3 and I'm not even close to beating any of them?
- Exactly what is the quality of the rewards? There's so much content that I don't want to perseverate on this aspect of the game unless there's a strong gameplay reason to do so, such as peerless ability seeds, chalices of hope, etc.
- Are they woke?

Thanks in advance for your helpful responses.

-The small ones usually have 2 Waves to beat.
-Bigger ones can have 3 for Moon and 4 for Water in 20 seconds ^^ more idk yet
-You get skillseeds like 10% more dmg with that element or something along those lines sometimes new magic use seeds its not that great but when you really wanna specialise it might be good. EDIT: (As mentioned below there is dmg+10% double cast and a spell of the element more info in the post below) Also as far as i know its the only way to get some of those.
-what even does that mean x.x

I just did them on normal i stopped doing them on hard x.x when you like the challenge its fine but the difficulty difference is just crazy in there normal is like a cakewalk in comparison to hard. Also as info you can go back to them later on to try again with more elements and skills for you to try again.

Small aeries are in number of 3 for each element and they all follow the same pattern :

- one gives you a spell seed of that element (note that for dryad it's the resurrection spell, that's where it is).
- one gives you the corresponding element +10% damage seed.
- one gives you the double cast seed for that element (double cast passives lets you select 2 spells of the same element of the seed from the ring menu to be cast at the same time, it's an insane dps boost, but you can only equip a single double cast seed on a char, so if you equip the water one, you can't equip the fire, earth etc. ones for example).

I haven't done the greater ones yet, so I don't know what they give.

Great ones i know of are those two:
Water "Oath of Tides": Extends the duration of an Elemental Break by 30%
Moon "Oath of Renewal" : Moves Consume 60% less MP when used during an Elemental Break.

Do them as soon as you can because they level up with you and end up being an HP sponge battle if you wait too long. Damage scaling, doesn't seem to keep up, especially when up against a timer.

Much appreciated folks, guess that puts this one to rest.

Most likely because of the better gear that higher level enemies expect.

I guess a good strategy when entering a new area is to leave the aeries alone, collect everything else, then check if the next town sells better weapons.

I finally beat an Aerie on Hard. The reward was underwhelming but the chocolates and Wish Cups used are relatively inexpensive given the cash scaling around level 21.

i don't even have any clue how to beat the greater ones... usually i have around 40s to 1 minute time left on the smaller ones but the timer on the big ones seems impossible, don't even know how i could speed the blue one against the lvl 1 crabs up since they are all one shot and i still don't even see an end

Thanks folks, everyone was helpful, my general plan will be to focus on the rest of the content and maybe come back to the Aeries later if I feel I absolutely must, but so far I don't think not engaging with them will be game breaking for me. Great thread overall.

I did it with the water vessel you can use it unlimited just dodge ocassionally to reposition and kill the last wave with another elemental class strike also what helped me later on was the elemental vessel charge thingy (first skill second column) for wind as example at the start since then you can kinda super dash around and to every enemy pretty fast. ^^

Do them only when you have 100% limit break (dont know the correct name but you know what I mean ^^) then you can do the first wave normally, and the second wave one hit everything with the limit break.

I'm in Chapter 1 and have passed a few on Hard. I would say it's best to let them sit there and go about your way a while. But you should DEFINITELY be able to clear out the earlier ones now. use weakness, save up your class strikes, etc

Some of the greater elemental eeries are basically puzzles and have a singular solution for beating them, and some of them you can just straight up brute force. The 2 minute ones with multiple waves that're expanded versions of the regular eeries can be brute forced.

For the puzzle eeries like above, you have to figure out which elemental vessel works the best, it's trial and error. You can clear one of the waves with a class strike, I typically save the class strike for the last wave. Or if you really dislike them, you can just use at trainer to lock the CS gauge to 100 and spam class strikes to simply knock it out.

You know what, that makes perfect sense. They probably want you to use the specific vessel of the aerie now that i think about it.
