Class costumes
Hey there!

Any New Game Plus players can confirm whether there are class costumes, i.e., the ability to look like a class while using another?

From the gameplays I've seen, the only costumes you can equip are the DLC ones (Guardian Garment for Val, Mana Superstars Costume set). New Game Plus does allow you to inherit maxed out classes elemental vessel, weapon, abilities and class strike into your starting class. I want to make sure that you can inherit also the appearance for the class, even though my guess is negative.

Thanks a lot!

I doubt anyone has gotten there yet, afaik the game is like 30 hrs long...

But yeah that would be really great. The class costumes look fantastic, and being able to switch out the look would be soooo cool.

I've seen some players that are already on NG+ (among which there are those who got the game in advance / early access) but I know only a few are already there.
And, even though they are on NG+, since I assume they don't own any DLC, the slot for customizing body appearance, i.e., costume, doesn't show up; only the slot to customize weapon shows up.

I'll leave some links:

In Trials, at first you could only switch to costumes of the current's playthough's previous class(es), the ability to use any costumes from previous games during a NG+ was only added later, so there's still hope...

Interesting. I do have the DLC costumes, but after changing classes, as you might already know, the class costumes don't show up. I wonder if that maybe is subject to change. Would be really neat.

Just like the ability to reset your level for NG+, right? In case of any of them missing, it would be lovely to have both of them back. I wonder if we can suggest it to Square.

Can you confirm that on NG+ you are able to equip the class costumes, once you get there? Otherwise, we'll have to reach Square Enix and request it.

I fear it's less "important" here because in Visions you can swap out your class for free all the time, whereas in Trials it requires respeccing.

That may be true, indeed. But, despite being easier in Visions, class change, like in Trials, change gameplay experience dramatically, and, without costumes, there’s no way of separating gameplay and aesthetics.

So, since there’s already weapon transmogrification, why not have class costumes? They are one of most enjoyable things in postgame.

some of the class costumes are FIRE

Okay, so by now it’s pretty much confirmed that there aren’t class costumes, i.e., you can’t transmog your class appearance; in fact, the only costumes available to wear are the DLC ones.

How can I request such a feature to Square Enix? I’ve read about the problems with Ouka Studio, but I don’t think requesting a feature would hurt.

There are class costumes, but only for the class you actively are. If they are not showing, it's because you still have a DLC (or pre-order) costume attached. These supersede the class appearances when changing elementals.

I’m aware of that much. But my request is exactly to have what is currently missing: the ability to look like a class other than the one you actively are.

Any ideas of how to reach out to Square Enix?

You're missing the point. He wants the ability to use one class's appearance while being a different class.

Basically like how the weapons can look like any of the other weapons youve bought. It blows my mind that they didn't include the same thing for the outfits.
