Sadly its really killing the game for me.
No. I’ve played many JRPG’s. This one is just paced poorly & overloaded with cutscenes in places where it could just be dialogue instead. Long cutscenes are not a problem when done properly. Poorly paced cutscene spam are an issue
Compared to many modern day JRPGs, this game is actually lighter on the cutscenes as its a more simple/old-style approach. You've clearly never played a later Persona game or anything like that.
And then we wouldn't get good character animations and direction in scenes?
