What is up with the offensive as hell accent from Careena?

I get it haha wacky rural Americans. Happens everyday in media but they took the most urban sounding girl to emulate the most insulting Dolly Parton style accent imaginable. It is so jarring I can't just ignore it. Will have to switch to Japanese VA if I end up getting it on full release but shader stutter on my 3090 is pretty brutal so will probably skip it.

In Japanese she speaks with a heavy kansai accent. It's been the norm to localize this as a southern drawl in like 99% of localisations of anything Japanese that uses this. Not saying it's good but it's been the standard so not really surprising, I just use the JP voices.

I feel the same way. She sounds like she is trying too hard to sound southern. I'm southern myself and it is too much for me, especially since her parents and everyone else in her village don't speak this way. It doesn't make sense that she speaks this way. Unless she is just TRYING to sound country just to do it. She is trying TOO hard really. Perhaps she is doing it to annoy her parents.
