Well that demo sure is disappointig
Talk about bad first impressions. No ultrawide support, no HDR, no mouse control in the menus, no way to assign additional (side) mouse buttons, ultra minimal graphics options, and of course tons of UE4 shader compilation stutter.

The characters look okay enough I guess, but the environments? Certainly no doubt that Switch is the primary target, there's so little geometry here it wouldn't trouble a PS2.

Pretty weak, disappointingly so.

I think this is the first demo of a game I've played where you can't always use the controller or the mouse.

No widescreen, no buy.
Thanks.

My main problem is that the demo should have started at the beginning of the game. There's no reason to start the demo with the characters all together and obnoxious dialogues that make no sense if you haven't played the part before. Also the maps are completely empty, I think I'd find more things to do in the open world of Daggerfall.

Maybe the start of the game is terrible so they wanted to hide it

Plenty of demos are either a specific section of the game or a more made-for-demo-itself campain.
Recent examples include Like a Dragon: Ishin (a combat sandbox) and Sea of Stars (a section a few hours in).
Older examples are the three Bravely games (all uniquely made demos), Triangle Strategy (a section in the middle-ish of the game) and even older we get FF12 (two later sections of the game) and before that FFVIII (the second main 'mission').

A Japanese game from a console game-franchise coming to PC having no dedicated keyboard and mouse controls and barebone options to tweak the settings? Geez. Such a surprise!
And, this game won't be released on Switch.

As far as PC ports go, yeah, it's pretty bare bones but that's because Square games are usually console ports. Even the FF titles have these problems.

That said, I'm liking the game but I haven't had the chance to finish the demo. Probably going to preorder it.

This, not that it is a new thing but it completely strays from the Trials one, what is bad.
