Same. Left joystick only runs with true up down left right. Diagonals are busted (changes to walking instead of maintaining running). The "fix" proposed in the other notable discussion below doesn't work for my King Kong Pro 2 controller.

UPDATE: Somehow after the 5th/6th time of attempting said fix, it now works. Diagonals operate correctly.

Camera control on right joystick need options. I have certain preferences in how camera controls should work. This games doesn't seem to let me change them.
This game is likely to get put on my buy later when they've fixed it list. If they ever do fix it. I'm not buying a game with damaged controls.

none of my xbox controller are working in this game. like five minutes it was laggy and worked now I got no response at all. I tried to change to an wasd layout with rewasd but it always takes time to find out the right layout all by myself. I am disapointed.

have this problem with my legion go,I thought it was my controller calibration but then tried with a dual sense controller and found a similar issue, and it only seems to happen with that game, It might be a problem with the game itself....

They hardcoded the dead zone.

I have an analog keyboard, so usually I map WASD to behave as a stick, and the issue appears for me too, so I have to use WASD as normal (the issue doesn't appear on regular keyboard controls).

I hope the developers fix the controller issues. It is annoying to press the joystick in the diagonal direction (you start walking instead of running for anyone that didn't know)

Yeah, the dead zones that're programmed into the game are way too aggressive, and seems to effect all versions of the game. Since Steam Input can handle dead zones on it's own, it should just be straight up removed from the game entirely (At least, on PC). At the very least, let us disable it in the options or something...

Unfortunately, nobody who's been writing previews, and likely reviewing the game, have been mentioning the poor movement controls at all. And yet I can literally SEE the dead zones in their videos because it makes the character "snap" in the north/south/east/west directions. But because they say nothing, I doubt any meaningful feedback will actually get to the devs before launch. I've posted this on multiple popular forums in the hope that it'll somehow work it's way to the developers, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's really unfortunate, because movement controls are one of the most important things in a game, especially more action oriented games. If the movement is off, the entire game will -always- feel off (Because as a player, that's what you do 90% of the time... Move around). Not every player will know it's the aggressive dead zones, but they WILL know something is off. And that'll effect review scores, and sales.

I'd like to see the game have the best chance possible to do well, and this is such an easy fix (Speaking as a programmer). Really hope the devs get the message...

I see you've played quite a bit, did you find a fix? I experience the exact same thing, character snapping into the closest cardinal direction when stopping diagonal movement at times... Makes the game feel incredibly unresponsive and is the reason I refunded it.
