vr any good in this?

I kinda want to play around in it for a little bit, but 100gb is a big ask on a game I dont own for probably 2 days when its done downloading.

The game is free to play for 3 days. Try it out. I did today and VR is the same old F1 22 head lagging mess. It runs faster now BUT you still get that head lagging crap. Is kind of OK at 90 Hz refresh rate. Any lower refresh rates, you will get sick in minutes. Same old crap...your vision will shake and vibrate when you are over the kerbs. The graphic is only just sharp enough to see the next turn and reading off the braking marks. This is at 3xxx pixel resolution per eye. I have a highend system here. Ryzen 7 7700x and Quest 3 and RTX 4080 super. Even if the game is free, you are most likely won't survive long enough in a race to handle that head lagging crap. I have about 30 minutes time trial session and the game crashed. I am feeling a bit sick at the moment.

I tested and played for few hours. In short, the VR is OK if you can use 90 Hz refresh rate. At 90 Hz, the lag is literally gone. But to get that clarity you need to see your turns and brake marks, you need to use DLSS and DLAA with 3000+ pixel resolution per eye. My 4080 super could barely manage those settings. Resolution scale is at 125. Oculus app resolution is max, 54xx. Most of the setting is at medium and some low. And the game crashes frequently. I am hoping because maybe my resolution was too high? I just finished a 5 lap race and about to see the celebration cut scene. The game crashed. GPU load was between 90% to 98%.

The AI is kind of dumb too. There is a queue of cars waiting to make the 2nd turn in the Austrian course. There was a full flag yellow and the AIs didn't even bother to drive around everyone. I had to cut the grass to pass all of them while the AIs stopped dead in the course.
