F1 24 on steam deck

Hi everyone - what do you think the chances are of getting this to run on steam deck? Not looking for anything special but 30 fps low would keep me happy on the road.

If you can make the previous two run (F1 23/22), than you will be able to run this too.

Not sure, if you should though. If you 'need' a handheld device, I'd rather use Nvidia or XBOX cloud streaming (depends on your bandwith/Internet). But, that's just my preference.

Cheers - it’s for when I’m away from home with essentially no internet (mobile phone only). I’m a simple man and not interested in ray tracing etc just want a quick race in driver career and I’m happy.

F1 23 is one of the best optimized racing games on deck. It will be the same on the 24th too, I have few doubts. We'll just have to wait a bit to see it certified. But I don't think it will take that long this time

I have tried to run the F1 24 Closed Beta since early April, but they added an anticheat for F1 24. It’s up to EA if they’re gonna configure it to run with the Steam Deck.

EA Anticheat runs at the kernel level, they don't have a linux equivalent for any of their other games using it so don't expect it here either.

I am telling you now, this will not work on Steam Deck on day one. I don't expect it ever will.

with the addition of anti cheat it will never be playable on steam deck, like fifa and lots of others, the steam deck has turned out to be a complete waste of money to be honest , it cant playing anything with anti cheat and we need anti cheat, i sold my steam deck last week for a pork pie and a can of juice

yeah sadly the game doesn't work. There's a specific message saying it isn't supported on Wine, Proton or Steam Deck.

lol wut. I mean I get the anticheat argument, but I absolutely love my Steam Deck. There's a *ton* of games that you can play on it, and some are incredibly optimized for the hardware. At one point Cyberpunk practically ran better on Deck than desktop.

LMFAO. Anticheat doesn't have to be implemented in the way ea and others are doing. There's a ton of games that have anticheat, that work fine on linux or steamdeck. no one should be supporting a company that lies to it's consumers.
