SOOO MANY DOGS!

Is this the dog apocolypse? over about 2 ingame weeks i ended up with about 6 dead dogs in my camp and probably another 7 surrounding it. Almost every time im woken up at night its by +2 dogs.

You're probably spending too much time around the starting area, right? Two things are likely to contribute to a "too many dogs" situation:

a) Dogs spawn in 3 locations that more or less circle around Cryo. So choosing to spend a lot of time in that area means you are choosing to stay in Dog Central.

b) When staying in the same location for a long time, you leave many tracks and your scent all over the place. Since you happen to be prime lunch material for many creatures and NPCs, choosing to stay in any one place for long means that basically over time you are setting up a beautiful billboard: Self-Service Restaurant Philip - Now Open! ;)

So basically:
1) Moving away from Cryo = Less Dogs.
2) Staying in one place for long = Bad idea.

If you do want to set up a quasi basis somewhere, pick a location with friendly (to you) NPCs, that will thin out the population of your enemies. Both DMC and ATN work this way, with DMC being by far safer, and ATN being by far more profitable (both because of more scavenging opportunities and because of more dogmen - provided you are capable/willing to kill some of them for cash).

i have been around cryo the whole time trying to gear up based a crowbar and broad spear. Although i have started to leave cryo for a while to search for ammo for the 3 empty guns i have -.-

Lmao yeah fr this may as well be called dog massacre the game. My character got ill from emergency drinking water without sterilising and I had to hang out in cryo for like 4 days i was fairly buffed with gear so dogs hasent been a problem before. But my guy woke up with an attack from 5 dogs at once and I went absolutely nuts on them with a baseball bat and a bow. My god my guy must have looked like a psycho after because I just saw a Muda walk onto a tile saw me with 5 dogs mashed up and walked away. Haha honistly this game is so good 10/10 I had to take a break after and think of what I had done.
