It's possible such a system could be built, but is a bit beyond my capabilities at the moment.
In practice, the definition of "could" gets stricter and stricter as release approaches, so as not to clobber a stable game with an incomplete change. And once NEO Scavenger "1" is released, the "could" widens up again for the sequel, when there's more time to experiment.
But, if it CAN'T be done, simple as it seems, maybe the latest revision making pills unrecognizable by non medics, should be removed. It shouldn't be that hard to remove something that was just added.
Most pill makers put some sort of marker on each pill, making them easily identifiable by people who take a lot of pills daily, and keep them all in pill boxes divided up by days of the week. Otherwise, what does happen to the poor sap who swallows two water purifier pills by mistake?
Also kind of makes you wonder where the purified water is kept when it's poured out of a bottle to make a noise trap. Ditto the booze and corn syrup drink.
2nd Most of your comment was not very relevent to the conversation of "why do I have to remove pills from a bottle I am using to craft things" (such as noise traps).
3rd While it is true that there are marks on pills to help identify them not everyone would know what they were unless they were familiar with those pills since there are a TON of them so I think that it makes sense that you wouldn't know what the pills where unless you had some medical training.
2: I started this thread. All my comments are relevant to the thread.
3: There are not a TON of pills. There are: water purifiers, non prescription pain killers, prescription pain killers, sleeping pills, and antibiotic pills. That's more like a handful of different pill types. This latest, needless, complication is just another, of many, many others that have changed this game from a light hearted, die laughing game I really enjoyed, into a grim reaper charnel house of horrors that I loath.
2)Touche
3)How do you know that he won't add in more pills to make it more interesting? Also as you said there are not that many pills so the removal of names shouldn't affect you since you could just guess and be fine atm since most of the pills you dind will be in bottles so not sure why you are complaining about the name removal for pills.
2: Ohmigod!! We agree on something.
3: When I first started playing this game it was light, dark humor. It was a refreshing change from games like Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Panzer Corps, games I was then playing. It was a game that didn't take itself too seriously. That was about 10 months and 700+ game hours ago. As I've watched in horror, change after change, a seemingly endless barrage of changes and the dreaded "rebalancing" have turned the game into something that is no longer fun.
Tonight I signed off the game and went back to Fallout New Vegas, which now seems like a game that doesn't take itself too seriously. Even playing the DLC Dead Money in hard core mode, gives me less heartburn than this game.
The solution to my problem is simple, but costly. Don't use pill bottles to make noise traps. Use bottles that take up twice as much room in the baggies we now have instead of backpacks. Use a tin can to boil your water and make clean rags, because a tin can takes up less room in the baggie than a saucepan. Get used to only having 5 arrows at any time, because there's no place to store more. Face the fact that most of the bad muthas you run into are going to have you outgunned.
And so on.........
You don't have to keep pills in a pill bottle.
yeah... water purifier pills are purple, and antibiotics are white.
nice try though.
