NEO Scavenger

NEO Scavenger

Fire
So, the only way to make fire is a lighter?
It's really hard to find sometimes, now I was looking for it for 2 days and died from hungry D:
Really, there's must to be another way

And another question: why I can't cook spoiled meat?

Well, no of course not, friction also works. However, some survival skills are necessary for that, aka the trapping skill. (Seriously have you ever tried it in real life? It is NOT easy if you don't know what you're doing).

Edit: Because it's spoiled? And then you die? :)

You can also eat raw food, you don't need to cook it if you're starving. And you can make fire with a couple of medium branches and i don't remember how many twigs and the skill trapping. No fuel needed that way since you use friction
Oh, ok, thanks for the help

If you're just starting off and getting used to the game I recommend taking the Botany and/or Trapping perks. Botany will let you identify poisonous berries and mushrooms from editable ones as well as find a lot more food/water while scavenging in forests and plains. Trapping will let you start friction fires that don't require a lighter and craft squirrel traps to find more food in forests, as well as being able to cure meat so that it lasts longer than normal cooked meat (makes it dehydrate you though, personally I just stick to normal roasted meat).

Both raw and cooked meat turns into spoiled meat once it runs out of condition, a better word might be rotten. Basically it's at the point of no return by then, cooking won't help it.

It would be nice if cooking meat restored some of it's condition though.

So, can I do something to save the condition?

Just joined this game and looking at all those available poisonous stuff like mushrooms I wonder if there is a way to poison your blade, end of your spear or anything else what you use to cut your enemies. Anyone knows?

I already said you can cure the meat to make it last longer, if you have the Trapping skill, at the expensive of it giving you hydration. Normal cooked meat also lasts longer than raw meat, so always cook/cure meat as soon as possible.

No, there are not any methods of making or using poison.
