Permanent Safe Storage?
Hey, I was wondering if there is anywhere I can store things permanently and they won't disappear or be stolen?

No, there's no such place. You can store items permanently almost anywhere, but those can be stolen. Items stored in the car hired at the St. James Parkade cannot be stolen, but you have to pay for that.

Actually NPCs cannot take any item placed into a tiles camp section. You can store anything in a tiles camp space, and no one will ever be able to take it except you. I know this works as I left an extra cache of supplies in a tile near the dmc for a good portion of the game and they were never stolen.

I'm pretty sure that has been changed, from experience.

Really? I guess its been awhile since I played, well thanks for letting me know! I would have been pretty upset if I had left a bunch of stuff somewhere, and a random looter picked it all up.

The campsite, unlike the ground inventory, is not always visible to the NPCs - it depends on the Concealment stat if they can see items in that camp or not. Items on the ground are always visible, meaning the NPCs will actively travel to pick those up.

Seems late but from many playthrough experiences whenever i place items at hatters base, anyone who steps over it does nothing and all my items stay in place with nothing stolen.

Not sure if it's a bug or due to a mod or what, but I was able to store things in the Health Clinic at the DMC. I'd buy some cheap pills, and when it gave me the option to go to the inventory screen I'd place whatever I wanted stored in there. The only downside was that I'd have to pay for more pills to access it again.

hi i saw a set of fun youtube videos where someone was using the hatters hideout as a mini base. (he made about 20-30 videos and while i havent seen all yet, everything there seemed to be ok, but i think he had to befriend the hatter first)

Hatter's base, as well as other hexes in the Sprawl around the DMC gate is relatively safe, as the guards are doing good enough job at keeping the looters at bay, and they don't loot themselves. However, it is important to say, those are not 100% safe - some looter, Frogger or Mutha can still sneak by the guards and clean the player's campsite in there. It's just much less likely to happen than in the wild.

I like talking about games.
Surprisingly little others do.
