NV goggles without batteries

Is it just me, or is finding both night vision goggles AND their batteries incredible luck? This only happened to me once in the many playthroughs. Usually NVGs are just selling fodder and you can't use them yourself. In my current game, I already got night vision through eye modification, but still haven't seen a functioning set of NVGs.

Have I just been really unlucky, or does everyone else experience that too?

Never even found proper NVG batteries.

NVG batteries are the small circle ones, currently I am pretty sure they are called simply "Batteries".

They are called "Battery" for everyone and "Military Battery" for electricians. They are showing up on Junk Market from time to time - definitively the easiest way to acquire them.

True, I only ever found them either at the Junk market or inside the goggles already, from corpses. Never on their own as loot.

I found a Military battery on a stranger once

If the night vision goggles have been laying in an abandoned shed for 40 plus years, I'd assume the batteries would be dead. Ditto for flashlights and laptop computers. Batteries just don't hold their charges that long.

I tend to luck out and find them while searching - but usually independent of finding the actual NV goggles. Generally have close to enough money for the eye augments by the time I come across them, but sometimes I get a few day's worth of use out of them.

About as tricky as finding a good backpack or shopping cart these days, though I gotta say, once you get good eye augments, finding quality stuff seems to happen a good deal more frequently :)
