Benefits of cannibalism?
I've just recently started playing and have killed my first dogman, I was really hungry at the time and wanted to eat it's flesh but wasn't sure if that'd count as cannibalism or not. So far, finding food hasn't been a problem for me (I have the botany skill), but I'd like to know if there are some benefits I'm missing out on by being a vegetarian?

Nope, dogmen are not human, you can eat them safely (cook the meat before eating it).
You can even sell the cooked meat if you are not far from a merchant.

Yep, what lentropi said. Only humans and humanoids (like Melonhead) count against you when it comes to cannibalism, the rest of the meat you kill is fine, nutritious, and good for both survival and selling.

And btw, you should try actual cannibalism a couple of times. ;) It's just a nice lil bit of ingame lore, even if it has negative consequences (ie. makes the game a bit harder down the line). And finding its cure is also an interesting bit of lore. Just an idea. :)

That great news! Can't wait to chow down on some free-range dogman meat. And sure, when things get desprate I'm not above eating my fellow man if it means I'm saving my own life. We'll see what happens when I do...I've just guessed that there'd be consequences.

Dogmen hunting is great, it's one of my favorite ways to play. You really rake in the cash from those skins (if you have trapping to make the real coats). Never starve, never freeze either, and you get a fear bonus wearing those coats. (People will be more likely to run away from you because you look so BADASS in your dogman skin coat.)

I have never tried cannibalism, maybe I should though.
