I forget if you need to have the device powered on or not but the value of the data should make whatever it is that is holding the data more valuable.
Which makes sense since in real life you can't physically take the data itself & hand it to the person.
Are you holding whatever the data is in your hand, where you can easily mouse over its contents? When you hover over the data stick, is its value more than $1? Simply dropping it on the ground at the junk store should increase your money.
