Do coins have a use for now?

I saw that coins are on the road map for future updates. But for now, are they totally useless?

I got 3 piggy banks full, about half a bucket too, I never found a use for all those coins. I also don't know if there's a way to get rid of them? The incinerator does nothing.

I think they will be useful in the future, just in case, I put them aside

there is (if i remember correctly) a yellow story quest that asks for coins

random quests ask for coins occasionally. I put them in an XXL box on the side. A handful, *hold left mouse click over a pile of coins on the ground until it wont take more* = 20 coins.
*F handful grab* = something like 3-4x that.

Never had such a quest, I'll keep looking.
