There are no visual differences between marked and regular bills.
Hi everyone. In tasks with the condition "No marked money," I started noticing that many of the bills I send aren't being counted for some reason. I checked all of them under a UV lamp — they're all clean, with no marks.

In the task that requires sending only marked and/or counterfeit money, I noticed — thanks to the scanner — that I actually have a lot of marked bills, even though visually there's no difference when I check them under the UV lamp. Is this a bug, or am I checking them incorrectly?

You have to turn the lights off to use the UV/blacklight. Otherwise there isn't enough contrast in the lighting to see it.

I checked on the workbench with the UV lamp upgrade, with the lights off at night, and the marked bills still don’t show up.

having to manually check all the bills is impossible in itself. But having to deal with daylight messing up UV light as well..

Agreed. Either the UV markings should be changed to be more visible, we get an item to give us a dark spot for easier scanning, or have a bill sorter that only separates out marked bills but does not sort out counterfeit bills nor sort out bills of different denominations.
The day time is a huge issue. It makes much harder to see the UV light markings.
I also noticed a lamp above/next to the workbench which also makes seeing the marked/unmarked bills much more difficult.

There needs to be option to toggle each individual lamp and ability to make the day times darker, maybe like toggle the roof or something.
There's two different types of "markings"
Type one - Police markings....these will be marked on both sides of the notes with a cross
Type two - Gang markings....these only seem to appear (at least on my play-thru so far) on one side of the note, mostly I've noticed them on the tail (non portrait) side of the note
I must say the quest to deliver 8.000$ counterfeit or gang marked notes in an XXL box is the most stupid one espacially if the mission doesn´t even count the notes.

When i scanned the notes it said that the stack had a total value of 8.010$ and as i was already anoyed as hell by this quest so i wraped the notes up put them into plastic and put them in the XXL box just so that the quest only counted 310$ when they passed on the conveyer.

I don´t know why the devs came up with such a stupid quest but for the sake of sanity pls give us an marked counter machine or make it so that the table sorts the notes on its own so that we can focus on other tasks during this time.

It´s way to tedious for what we have to go through to split the regular notes from marked ones.

I also had a hard time with these marks. They are barely visible on the workbench. The best tactic I came up with was to sit next to a lamp and pick up the banknotes one by one, laying out the marked ones. It's very tiring.

Just like in real life, you wont' see uv markings with other lights on in the area, especially daylight. Come on bud.
I found getting the money wet before checking for marks made them easier to spot, you can then use your camera to check a pile of cash to see if any of it is marked before shipping out.

By camera you mean the scanner? My scanner doesn't tell me if there are marked bills...

The scanner will only show marked bills if you have a task with the condition "No marked bills"
