Memory Leak?
This game looks awesome and its a damn shame I can't play it for more than five minutes. The problem is, it starts out running fine at 60fps, then slowly drops until its unplayable around like ~10fps. It's really wierd. I lose a like a frame every 10 seconds. My only idea would be that there is a memory leak somewhere, but then it would affect every user not just me ._.

Anyway It's just really sad, I was super excided to play this game and now im down $10.

EDIT : just sent an email to devs about it.

EDIT2 : AS OF NOV 18 THEY FIXED IT OMFG IM SO HAPPY THANK YOU!

Something like that?
You guys should try to find a way to get a hold of the devs, they don't seem very active on these forums. If they are, they're very quiet.

Kinda. This is actually the strangest thing i've ever encountered in terms of frame rate problems. Like the framerate just slowly decreases. It's incredibly odd.

I wonder if the devs forgot to deactivate some instances outside of the view or something like that.

I think I'm going to start a new game and just stand still and see if the framerate still drops.
Luna Nov 12, 2013 @ 6:34pm
Okay so I just tested the standing still idea and I can confirm that it still steadily drops frames.

Yep, my friend who bought the 4-pack can't play due to the memory leak, hopefully they fix it =/

I'm worried the devs are not even aware of the problem, has anyone got in touch with them and explained the issue?
Luna Nov 12, 2013 @ 7:57pm
I'm not really sure how to contact them about it. I'll look for an email or something and direct them to this discussion so they can see that a lot of people are having the problem.

Odd, personaly i have not had this problem, it only lags when there are like 200 enemies on the screen an hour or more into the game. Other than that, a tip for others turn off the damage display later in the game, will give you way more fps. Hop eyou fix your problem though good luck.
Kraggoth Nov 12, 2013 @ 8:14pm
The problem occurs even if you sit at the main menu not playing the game, regardless of settings, video drivers, restarting the game / computer.
Luna Nov 12, 2013 @ 8:16pm
Well then it's 100% a memory leak.

Good news is that it can be fixed.
Kraggoth Nov 12, 2013 @ 8:32pm
Except they're alluding to the problem being with the platform they used to make the game (GameMaker) and it disliking certain video cards which is a problem they cannot fix themselves.

See under: The game runs slow!

I am an avid gamemaker user with many apps and games released and I've never had a problem with my graphics card. What is described here can only be a memory leak. I wish the devs would realize that... Consistant and steady fps drop is exactly what a memory leak does and i've never heard of anything else that will do that.

I think it's a really small memory leak. People with fast computers barely even notice it, they have plenty of ram and a fast processor to handle it. But on my slow laptop it's very noticable. This is probably why i'ts mostly an unoticed problem.

Anyone else who has this problem can you tell me what kinda specs your running the game on.

If they can't fix it themselves then they should sell the game with a warning saying "There's a risk of you not being able to play the game, and tough luck we can't fix it.".
I would have torrented this game and tested it before buying if i knew there was a risk of this happening.

But that's not the problem I'm talking about. I'm not really sure why this keeps getting brought up. It's not about GM not liking certain video cards. The game has a memory leak. They need to fix it now.

But what you're talking about IS still a problem, It's just not my problem. And since the dev's can't do anything about it then that's fine.

There's a risk of that with -every- game I've ever bought. It's kind of a standard of buying games. There will always be someone who has a problem and can't play the game for whatever reason.

I'm not saying there isn't a risk with every other game. I've had issues on other games, researched it and fixed it.
I've got an issue on this game, researched it and;
>While the minimum specs for the game is low, some graphics card dislike GameMaker's surface handling functions.
All other fixes i've found haven't worked.
