Will O The Wisp Killed Me?

Pretty confused right now... I was on the last level playing as sniper. I had Will O The Wisp. I jumped onto a platform, and the only mob who was nearby and capable of hitting me was one of those mini wandering vagrant things. I started to charge up a shot with "Steady Aim", and upon firing, killed it instantly. It had launched the multi-coloured balls, but they had not yet targeted me. When I killed it, it was right on top of me and it detonated because of the Will O The Wisp. However, the moment this happened, I was killed instantly. I had roughly 50% health at the time. Not sure if it is relevant, but I also had a Time Keepers Secret, which caused time to slow at the same time I died, though I'm pretty sure if you get insta-killed that is just what happens. Does anyone else know what could have caused this? Does the Will O The Wisp hurt you if you get too close?

From my many runs as Commando and Acrid that has Will O the Wisp, no it does not hurt you from what I've seen. Its entirely possible that you could have been hit by one of the homing missiles elite enemies tend to fire end game. They've done close to 45% of my health in one shot. Or perhaps maybe one of the security robots shot at you? I'm not entirely sure.

Either way, sorry to hear that mate. I know how frustrating that can be for someone. Congrats on making it that far with Sniper though. That's really impressive.

Yeah, I suppose it must have been a missile or something. They can be a little hard to spot. Thanks though. I think I've just played Sniper more than any other class because I really like the way that class plays, so I have a fair bit of practise :) I usually die on lvl 3 or 4 as Sniper. I just got super lucky with items that helped me to survive

Ok, same thing happened again now. Different level, except there was only one mob in the area. I'm pretty sure Will O The Wisp can kill you, at least as Sniper...

if you have any kind of time freeze, and you freeze time with the vagrant alive, it will keep spawning the homing balls during frozen time (invisibly) which will then immeidately all go for you when time unfreeezs. if you aren't already moving when it unfreezes, you will be instakilled (i've died from that at 1030hp before)

while farming boars, i had a bunch of will o the wisps, froze time, jumped in to drop a bunch of mines on the boars that had built up, and promptly died, 1200 damage, as soon as the explosions happened, so i'm pretty sure they can kill you, quite quickly too, so beware

I'm glad I'm not the only one then :/ I wonder if it's intentional though...

No, no. The Vagrants are bugged with Freeze time - they will continue to spawn the orbs and then, once freeze time ends, all the orbs will go kaboom and basically one shot you if you are near.

No but the second time it happened there was no vagrant

Late to comment this but something kills my sniper every time even with 50 Tough times(about 90% dmg reduction) and 5k hp i get one shot by something while normal damage is about 200, this only happens to sniper. Is there any mob that is capable of reflecting shots at you and thus killing you?

I never figured out quite why it happened, I just came to accept that when playing as Sniper, picking up Will o The Wisp is a risk.

I had a similar sudden and unexplained death. Something about the Vagrant's orbs seems odd. Maybe a very rare bug. The orbs killed me when they absolutely should not have, and it was caused by the Vagrant dying just as they were released. It was a very sudden insta-kill.

Will o The Wisp wasn't involved but i was playing the Sniper. Never had the issue before and would have forgotten it without reading this discussion.
