In game progress doesn't transfer between PCs
I was in Australia for a couple of months and there I started playing the game and unlocked all characters and most achievements. But now, that I'm back home, it's like I never played the game! I still have my Steam achievements, but all my in game progress is lost.

I assume there is no way to get my progress on my computer?

Did you make sure to bring over Prefs.ini and Save.ini?

Honestly, I didn't think about that at all. The only game I also played was Binding of Isaac and I didn't have to bring over anything...

Guess I'll have to get all the unlocks again.

Thanks!

You could modify the save files. You can find the save values on the wiki.

Wow, it's almost as if files from one computer don't magically get transferred to ever other computer on earth.

First of all. That's no reason to be a ♥♥♥♥ about it.

And second. My safe files of The Binding of Isaac were transferred via Steam when I went to Australia and what reason would I have not to expect the same thing from Risk of Rain?

It's almost like Valve have a feature in Steam that does exactly what's being suggested. As someone who's starting to set up a living room PC, I agree, Steam Cloud support would be very welcome.

You probably figured this out by now, but not every games uses Steam Cloud. A way to check if a game uses Steam Cloud is to open the properties of the game, go to the Update tab, there should be a Steam Cloud section below Automatic Updates (and Background Downloads). Even then, I like to backup my saves, if possible, just because I'm paranoid.

Not every games has their save files in steamapps. Sometimes they are in your user/documents(Terraria, Rogue Legacy, Bleed, etc) and I believe some games also goes in your user/appdata.

That was my first and only time as of yet that I used Steam on another PC. I haven't thought of Steam Cloud at all. But thanks!

I'll make sure to check that the next time!
