PORT 11100 still closed, bought the game on 23.06.14 and didn't play yet..

Hi,

I'm trying to join or host a game but port 11100 seems to be closed, even though I've opened the port in the router set a static ip, and gave new rules to the firewall...

Any idea what could be the reason?

If you talk about the game saying the port is closed... just don't trust that.
The game always say that to me and I had host a lot of risk of rain sessions.

Did you open any other ports or just this one?

I've only opened 11100... tried to use an online port checker and it says "filtered"... it doesn't make any sense, all other games working great when I host games or connect to others.

I opened with TCP and UDP in case both / either is needed - I was unsure - and it worked for me. The game always says it's closed though, just a stupid little bug.

Wasn't working for me with the default port so I just started using random ports to make sure and 4432 was suddenly detected as open and worked. No idea why 11100 always comes up as closed for me.

Can't they just integrate steamworks for mp, for my part when i check with cmd or site like open port it says 11100 is open ingame it shows as closed. What a flawed game when it concerns the multiplayer system. You can try to use port mapper if your router can use upnp, it's a useful and easy tool for port mapping.

Thanks, Actually with 4432 it's working, maybe it depends on the range of the port...

Me and my friend cannot connect between us, neither of us can host the game, even the port (4432 and 11100) is open. I have modified the rule of firewall of my router (it is a Netgear) for forwarding all the request at my IP, but doesn't work. Can anyone help me to test the coop funcionallity?

Yes, i have a Netgear DGN2200v4 and I have set the rules of my firewall so that it forwards the traffic to my pc. But doesn't work :\

Try this guide, but use port 4432

Does your rules in the firewall have the correct path to the game?

The version of the firmware of this guide is old, anyway i've made the same steps and the results in the page of port forwarding is this:

I've downloaded a tool that was in the guide to check if the port was open, but it seems disabled, I can't figure out what locks the ports.
Now also the 4432 seems closed but in the game signs the ports are open.
