I cant climb with my 360 controller

I wanted to test my 360 controller in risk of rain to feel how does it feels like. I started the match, put controller support on, and it was all alright until i tried to climb a ladder.
I cant.
I can do something kinda like climbing, but its tedious, i just jump and try to go side to side and... well, is hard to explain, but the thing is that when i saw the controller controls and saw the keyboard controls i knew, that there was no option to bind the climb up and down control, so do i need to bind it somewhere else? Plz halp :C

Are you on windows? I too had this problem a long time ago. I believe I set everything to default and then contoller support on and it started to work. I hope this helps

your left stick is stuck holding down and your using the D-pad?
