Is this game worth playing after risk of rain 2 ?

It's pretty much the proof of concept but it's still worth playing. New characters, music and bosses for cheap.

(from the vids ive seen) its worth playing both, think of ror 1 as the harder version, because you cant shoot well or move much

risk of rain 2 has more evasion and also more enemies ranged attacks, where in risk of rain 1 its more zoning the enemies away from you and into traps or banners. risk of rain 2 starts off pretty easy but can get out of control quicker, where you die to the enemies being powerful instead of some user error in 1.

Risk of Rain, the original is totally worth getting IMO. It was the originator of this type of game, so even if it doesnt have the depth of its sequel, its worth it for the feel of where it all started. Plus its fun. There are a plethora of games that have taken inspiration from ROR1. My favorite being Seals of the Bygone.
