that healing thing was apparently an elite type, which heals off and on while the elite is still alive.
Coming right from Risk of Rain 2 didn't help any. I did not realize the power of drones (because in RoR2, drones suck and are generally not worth the investment), and the drizzle here is harder than the drizzle in 2 (in 2 you can just sit there and not dodge any attacks and heal faster than you take damage with just a leeching seed).
becoming accustomed to the difficulty now, and just unlocked 2 new survivors! looking forward to seeing how they play, and if they are any better for me than commando.
probably my one remaining gripe is that item entries are not unlocked on drizzle. Or at least I don't think so...
sorry for the outburst. Please forgeev
Also you can unlock items on Drizzle diff, the thing you can't unlock on Drizzle is those monster logs.
And just to make sure you know, touching the vagrant will not damage you. Only its orbs does damage. You can literally stand still and deal damage to it and only move when the orbs are being shot off. Just make sure you look out for other enemies closing in on you.
How does one unlock Acrid? I managed to get enforcer and bandit, but no clue how I can unlock Acrid.

Acrid must be defeated on the map "Sunken Tomb" which can be the 3rd stage. He might be located in the top right corner of the map. He is not a 100% sure spawn, so you will have to be lucky.
A basic tip is to learn the attack patterns and range of enemies. This game is, in my opinion, more skill based than the second one.
If you want to "cheese" the victory, you should look into unlocking the Artifact of Command. This will allow you to choose which items you get and completely remove the RNG-element of the game. Check out this guide, which includes information on how to unlock the artifacts:

I have to admit, after 4 straight hours, I'm kinda RoR-ed out for today. I tried Acrid, they seem cool, but I don't have the energy to do another run.
artifacts can make the game a pushover (glass, command, sacrifice, kin and farm lemurians on stage 1 for an hour)
unlocking certain items might help aswell depending on your playstyle / survivor
dont be afraid to lookup things on the wiki.. knowledge is power!
EDIT: enraging* just leaving it so you know why it's edited.
I disagree, the Commando is one of the most solid and balanced classes in RoR.
Perfect starting class. Easy to handle, challenging to master.
No.
Also I don't usually say brash things like this but... if you have little skill into RoR no character or item will save you from death.
