Sequel?

Am I miss-reading the store page where it says this was just released this year? That means they spent the time to port it to modern hardware, and many times in the past when this was done, it was to test response for a sequel. God I'd love to see this game get a modern sequel, as long as it stayed away from live service cash grabs.... however EA owns it so not much chance of that happening.

That just means it was the date the game was published on Steam. Some developers manually put the original date a game was released, otherwise the default SteamWorks entry is the day the product became available for sale on Steam. This is just the bog-standard Origin port and it released with a string of other titles such as the C&C complete collection, Dungeon Keeper 1+2, SimCity 3000 and Populous.
