Does this require the EA App?
If it does I won't buy it cause I wanna play it on my steam deck

No EA App. Seems to be working on Steam Deck so far!

Cant get it past the loading after intro video. Just hangs - OLED Steam deck, updated and running on experimental

No EA app. Game launches straight from Steam. =)

No, all EA games Pre-Autumn 2011 don't require Origin or EA App.

Exception: Dragon Age 2 which was downgraded on Steam to require said app.

Try using the latest GE Proton, in my case I used version 8-32. I've been playing fine with it.
