phystical games haven't been "physical games." since the late 2010s.

nowdays all of them are nothing more then glorified codes to prove you own the game where you have to download most the game before booting it up.

id say physical games died around the ps5 era thats when they truly died in my eyes sony showed we dont even own the physical discs of the games we bought for ps5 while ps4 i can play physical games offline 100% easily ps5 no i cant

except some specific games. most nintendo cartridges actually have the full game on them. So you can play them offline even after just buying them. first party nintendo games even get cartridge revisions where they put the updates on them.

At least they disclosed it before release unlike what they did with Sonic Mania. They hid it from the store page until days after release.
