Is this Crossplay this time??

Some Team Racing could of been a game that lasted much longer, but for some reason every Sonic Racing game is platform and region locked.. Causing the games to die much quicker with the limited player base locked to their own platforms.

Sonic Team racing was botched by bad online play design and no quick matching functionality. How is this version going to be any different?

I seriously doubt this has crossplay. Sounds like too much effort for SEGA.

It is confirmed that it will have crossplay

Team Sonic Racing would've died off quickly even with cross platform support.
It's a game with literally no appeal, especially compared to other kart racers out on the market, whether it's on PC with Transformed, on Switch with Mario Kart, or other consoles with CTR Nitro Fuelled.

Yes it will be crossplay(it's not confirmed but I saw something) if you have a Playstation 5 or you've seen the gameplay videos on YouTube you'll see the Playstation logo Icon on the racing laps results so I'm assuming will get see different consoles logos like Xbox,Nintendo, and PC

I think you are right, it shows a PS logo at the left side of the player name, but for some players it shows a robot, idk why, maybe people playing locally with someone that had the beta? I doubt they are bots because they have real player nicknames.

Lower ranks have bots, but higher doesnt. Also this will probably change after release, when playerbase will be way bigger

It needs to be able to accept players into online rooms even when the match has already started, like Transformed did. Not being able to join ongoing matches is what killed Team racing IMO. I tried many times, and could never find an open room. it could have been fixed, but Sega ignored that. Hopefully they don't do that mistake again!

They could also do what Mario Kart 8 does which is have you spectate the race and then sending you to the lobby when all racers have finished
