Report a translation problem
We wanted to just get the latest patch out without a huge delay for engine porting.
Hopefully the this next update will be on UE3 instead of UDK.
Heck I might as well add that to the list
Out of curiosity, what type of benefits we will see in UE3?
Hopefully we will be able to do the following;
-command line dictating steam ports etc (very important to make game hosting nice and easy)
-optimized dedicated server compiling (faster servers using less resources, smaller download for server hosts)
-lobby chat in the main menu
-creating a party/team using steam friends (like in Dota 2)
-showing how many users are online in the main menu
-faster game code (apparently writing gameplay scripts directly into the source makes them calculate 3x faster than in unrealscript)
-deeper control over the fundamental player movement code (should enable us to make rolling/climbing etc. smoother)
-steam workshop
Yeah, that's all I can think of for now
Basically all the features that need Steamworks to work we can now do.
UDK only has some of the steamworks features integrated and without the source code you can't implement any more of the API than is already in
Have the server crashing problem been fixed?
A vote kick would obviously require like 80% yes votes from everyone in the server to be effective. anyone who doesn't bother to type in a vote and simply continues playing would be assumed as a 'no' vote.
This way players would only get kicked if everyone in the server really wants them out badly.
Even tho a few people might try to vote a player for being good, I doubt the entire server would go to the effort of voting unless there was a real problem (hacks etc.)
And the blank competition sword would be nice if you like it (;
Oh, I suppose you know that, but the "disappearing icons" disappear when you press Esc !
Some old/new bugs that didn't make the list:
-Life Regeneration sometimes doesn't start, sometimes doesn't reach full life (not interrupted of course)
-you often keep teams colours in normal deathmatch
-knife against someone who's using Life Spell blocks the spell even if it can't make damage
-weird death animations in duel, where you istantly put the sword away after the kill and you can skate if you move
-teleport sometimes ends up in a random place or exactly where you standed (related to moving the camera with the mouse early during the spell?)
- lifesteal sometimes doesn't...steal life
-When you're hit by a fireball or a lightning you make a micro-jump (probably intended, just pointing it out)
-When you run in duels mode before the start of a duel you can also run side-stepping and backwards, not just going ahead (Moonwalking knights all over the place)
-Wood Sword needs to make less-or-no blood. I had a couple training fight and it's blood all over the place (quite funny)
- if you're running and then you roll you start moving slowly like in duels before this patch.)
Map Stuff:
-the balcony over the wolf statue in wolf king is not solid anymore (the central part)
-large inivisible platform in forest near the arc, not a real problem, hard to get there, but I climbed the really-long-crooked three-with-the-melon-on-top and fell and ended up walkin in the middle of the sky
-in snowblind in teams you can't see the circles when you are in the area covered with circular piles of snow near the barrels ( who cares on this one)
-the building with the windmill in snowblind is almost twice as high in team mode
-old inviisible floor in mid-air in wolfking
Sound stuff:
-There is no landing sound after a jump and after a fall (was there also a pain sound when you fell from an high place? )
Although I just noticed you can roll while landing and do not receive damage! so that won't happen a lot...
- There is no more sound when you change team with M
- When you and your opponent attack each other at the same time the sound is really really high
- wood on wood sword clang makes metal sound
p.s. I liked the green life regeneration much better, feels like I'm bleeding or I'm poisoned now with this red one (;
