What do you mean? I find it to be extremely fast paced. If I wouldn't pause every few seconds I would have a lot of trouble keeping track of everything that's happening on the map. Can you give me an example of another similar game that plays faster?
In which way is it faster? Do the soldiers move faster or something?
I do understand gun nuts though, just got back from a trip to the firing range myself :)
I won't comment on Breach & Clear vs Door Kickers as game quality since I respect those devs and thats best left to players. But I can play a lot of Door Kickers levels in the time it takes me to finish one level in B&C. And that's not a diss on them, its just I perceive the two games as different experiences. Ours is more of a "quickly try a plan and see if it works".
Likewise, XCOM takes ages to play just one mission, but is an amazing game. The play by play structure and focus on one character at a time makes you much more aware of the equipment used.
Also note you're witnessing the fruits of the overpowered armor, makes missions play longer than before. Most people would restart a level 5 times before passing the 1st door, pre-Alpha 9.
Anyway, we're always open to hear more about armor, weapon, etc options that we should add, provided they make sense for the setting of the game. Le us know! We have some other armor options on the "maybe" list - for example a level II concealable armor or a plate carrier with the front or rear plate removed. Might be interesting to experiment with, depending on playing style.
I'm all for the maybe list. I like this game quite a bit(Mission Generator makes this amazing), and I just want to see more options for my troops(Clothes, maybe?Weapon attachments, camo for my guns?) and some more guns/Differances. I'm assuming you know that the shottys seem to have the same stats, outside mag. capacity? But this is alpha, and a rather good one at that. As for this vs. B&C, i think i'll end up spending equal time on both. That is, until you add a skill tree and maybe a weapon attachment system. As of now tho, I like you(As a dev, no ♥♥♥♥ ;) ) if nothing else because you openly referanced Xcom and said that it was good. And i've seen you do that on other posts, too. You are the first dev to say that a game that isn't your own is good(Nothing wrong with it, but you may have just lost profits due to that)
But anywho, i hope to see this become cooler and cooler as time goes on.
(I know it would be a lotta work, but if the modding community got bigger, it would be really cool to see workshop!)

So nothing strange that they said that some others game are good.
Every game is unique, also about DK and Xcom there isn't a direct comparison. Xcom is a sci-fi, turn based game with some managerial elements. DK is a fairly realistic top down tactical shooter with dynamic pause. So a gamer can have fun with both games in differents ways.
For example: if I want to shoot tangos, I play DK, but if I would build something, I play Banished but it not imply that I found Banished more fun than DK or otherwise.

no offense but what is the point of camo on a top down game...
