Since so far a vast majority of new and old users have been having issues with the new Steam version of Toribash, there have been a lot of discussions made here which have 'cluttered' it up as it were.

Now, this thread / discussion is so that you can post your problems here, and so that the community as a whole can try so solve your issue while keepin the clutter to a minimum.

This discussion will be updated (hopefully) regularly with new updates on bugs and their fixes if they have one. But most importantly, we cannot do this without your help! If you have an issue, post it here and we can find a solution as quickly as we can, and this in the long run makes it easier and faster for everyone else to fix the problem if they ever get it. And this isn't just for a select few people to answer on - if you know anything of a particular problem, such as a solution to one (be it temporary or permanent) then please do contribute! All contributions will be added below and credit given to those that helped out with them.

Toribash Error: No Loadup
Currently, the only information I have for you about this is that sometimes the game does not even load, yet in the Task manager it appears briefly and then closes.
Update: There seems to be a fix for this issue! Many thanks to WrathOfTheHawk for finding this link with a file you can download to help 'older' games run on newer systems.

Toribash - Permanent Fullscreen Glitch
This is simple to remedy. Uninstall and reinstall toribash, but before you do that, make sure you create a backup folder somewhere on your PC where you can save all your replays, screenshots, scripts, mods etc, so that you do not lose them. Then copy the files back into the newly installed Toribash location and to their respective folders.

Toribash Error: Fonts Are Messed Up
This error is caused by your drivers not being up to date. If you are somebody that has this error in your client, then check your drivers are up to date, and update to the latest versions if not so.

Toribash Error: Multiplayer Crashing
This is apparently a larger problem for the Standalone Toribash 4.8 client, and so should not be affecting Steam users. (Although they connect to the same servers)
An update on this issue; apparently the odd one or two users are having this issue with Steam Toribash. I would say to check your routers or signal source to make sure that it is not interfering, as well as making sure that Toribash is allowed through your Firewall (this seems to solve most cases).
A second update: recently people have just been using /jo (roomname) to get around the issue of the game crashing when you load the multiplayer server screen, so for now just use that.

Toribash Error: Login Failure / Hostname Not Detected
This is a firewall / router issue. Make sure that you have actually made a special exception for Toribash through your firewall on both public and private networks, and then make sure that your internet quality is that of a decent rate (if it isn't large enough then it will persist with this error, regardless of whether you have given it firewall priority or not)

Toribash / Multiplayer Problem: Multiclient Play Prevention
For those that do not know, 'Multiclienting' means that two Toribash clients (Standalone or Steam) are connecting to the same server using the same IP adress (same router, whatever you want to call it), and is represented by the (MC) 'prefix' in front of the users names on the playerlist located at the right of the screen ingame. On Official servers, Multiclienting does not work as it 'boots' a player from the server as soon as they try to connect using the same IP as that of someone already in the room. There isn't a way around this unless you use a proxy. However, Private Rooms (created using /jo <roomname>, for example /jo butts) allow the usage of multiclienting. So if you wish to play with a friend that is over at your place then I suggest doing that.

I assume you mean like minecraft? Well, probably the same reason they don't want multiclienting players in small locked servers; it looks suspicious and if it were an added feature then people could abuse the ability to farm QI and TC while 'off the grid'.

Howeve if a feature was implemented but had QI and TC gain disabled for the server, I doubt it would be added for a while.

I'm still getting crashes when I try to join games. I have allowed ToriBash through the firewall but it still crashes. How do I open the / command menu to bypass this?

There is currently a Toribash 4.9 Beta 1 available, I will get the link for you when the forums become available for me. I will also find a link for all the active servers on TB and link them here also.

Currently multiplayer issues are to do with the servers, so I would just check that Toribash is allowed through your firewall and that your router is configured correctly.

hi, i played TB yesterday and everything was fine, no fps isues or anything. Then i tried to play it today and the game pops up and imediatley closes, it shows in the task manager for a tiny bit but closes. I have tried the link they provided in the main post but i do not have an amd card and the method dosent work.

Yeah, this has been, and still is happening to me. No matter what you do, nothing will work and nothing will fix that, unfortunately. My real suggestion is to boot up an older version of the game.

My friend can't create an account! It just gives him an error saying "Failed writing received data to disk/appli-" then you can't anymore of the message. What's going on? It means we can't play some multiplayer together, because he can't make an accoooount

Assuming he means buying the items, there is no Steam Market in which you can buy tori items. You have to go to the torishop or tori market to buy those.
