How do you invade water realms?
Atlantis invades my coast. I fight them off, but am unable to strike back at their home territories. There must be a way, right?

are you using CBM?

the easiest idea is to ignore them and build temples when they are the last oppenent to dom kill them. even drop sea of ice (stops all movement from water to land by freezing the oceans although spells can still move troops) if you are that late into the game to stop them from attacking you at all.

or to forge a whole crap load of UW gear to get your armys under the water. you need air or water mages. rings of water breathing or amulets of air for single commanders like mage support, barrels of air or sea kings goblets for a commander and some troops (realize your gonna need several, 1 group of 50 troops is not gonna take down a faction) as well as other items depending upon your gem income. the trident that auto cast freidnly currents helps offset the extra fatigue you take, bottles of water make water ele at the start of battle and are quite good. you could also go the forging route and just forge a crap ton of SC gear and give them rings/amulets.

you can cast thesis blessing (i belive thats the name) which is a global that allows any unit in the world to enter the sea.

you can go with summons that can enter the water. overall i like the sea kings court but not many of the other options honestly but trying stuff out always is a good idea in the game.

Thanks for info. I'm just playing on vanilla with the latest patch. The Atlanteans have become less of a threat since i fortified the coast. And built up temples. I'll take the other info into account later in game.

if possible build up your water magic level and you can summon up some good commanders and armies to take the fight to the ocean kingdoms. this will probably require a good amount of water gems or forging items that give you +water magic. i like to use a rainbow pretender that is at least +2 to all magic levels so i can build him up where needed.(like invading water provinces)

here is a guide to boosting your magic levels and/or setting up a rainbow pretender

my current game im playing on glory of the gods map vs 20+ impossible AI's ... pretty fun and my rainbow pretender is up to like +7 to +9 on all magic paths and is summoning dragons and elemental kings and stuff like that in preperation for my final push with a huge SC and thug army.

yeah as i stated the easiest thing to do is just ignore them and dom kill them last. taking to the waters is a huge investment and you should not be in a lot of major wars prior to trying. cause it takes a massive amount of resources to get a sizeable army underwater.

in my current game (dom 4 but same principles) in turning out 4 rings of water breathing and a barrel of air each turn. i also just summoned 6 sea kings courts. i had to finish up wars with 2 other nations and bottle up a third before i could even think about invading with massed troops. it just takes a hell of a lot of resources to do. not to hard once you get the hang of it.

also id highly suggest CBM. i dont think its still being updated but i belive its still good to go. makes the game much better imo.

Yeah, to go underwater you usually need air or water magic, and construction. What you can also try is death, as some undead can go into water. That doesn't mean they're good at it, but they can.
