How to use truck booster?

I can't figure out how to use it, I have it already installed but when i go to the bugs I still get stuck on the mud.

For anyone else trying to figure this out for the Steam Deck: To use the truck booster, you need to press A. There's no button prompt or any kind of explanation in the handbook that the truck booster isn't perpetually active, so this was very frustrating for me. I thought there was a bug that made the truck not recognise the booster somehow, because I bought mine early, so I bought another one (500 coins!), tried to uninstall the old one, restarted the game, tried various times etc. Finally found this thread and then tried all the buttons.

where do i find the truck booster? because im at the only gas station ''above'' the bog and anywhere on breezy bay and its not selling it idk where to get it elsewhere?

The Truck Booster is at the gas station closest to the Bog, where a small group of hungry folks gathered around. There is a little sign outside the gas station store with a picture of the Booster.
