That's literally one time. He specifically states it's a good luck charm and using it "brings wear, tear, and rust, and that's a real waste".

So he uses it but it doesn't count huh. Ok another time we see him use it is to block sephiroth in the training room when he's fighting Genesis. Does that not count?

And i'm still waiting to hear how the sword his father commissioned for him isn't his origin sword but zack's instead.
