Game doesn't start anymore

The game does not boot anymore since the last update.
Anyone got the same problem?

Yes. Missed yesterday's login rewards because of it. It's also been crashing a lot in general, such as when going to the Chocobo Farm and often when going into battles it hard locks on a darkened screen with a tutorial in Japanese.

Yeah the crashing on the start screen was bad enough before, now it doesn't boot at all.

Update:
Was able to get past the title screen after clearing cache and basically redownloading the game.

Still can't get past the time-out error after patching download at 100% :(

The game wouldn't work for me to begin with (kept getting error'd out after reaching 100% on installing a patch before) but now I can't even get past the title screen without it just freezing up and not responding.

I managed to launch the game after reinstalling it, but as soon as I close the game the problem returns...

Seems like the "exe" file is missing in local files too.

Ah, so it wasn't just me! Although in my case on the 26th the game refused to launch so I uninstalled it and tried to install it again, but Steam had a Disk Write Error (despite my Steam folder not being on the C drive but on the D drive with 50gb free) so I had to install it on my phone than yesterday I tried installing the game and it worked, come today and it won't launch what-so-ever~. Just what is going on?!

Same here. Uninstalled yesterday, launched, played a bit, closed it after finishing my dailies. Try to launch it this morning and nothing happens.

Tried to verify integrity and didn't help. Only a full reinstall works.

Same just now. Cleared cache, uninstalled and get an error when I click the load screen. I mostly use it on my mobile anyway, but it would be a nice feature to have on my pc when I am doing other computer stuff... oh well. Maybe someday they'll figure it out.

Fixed my issue. Avast had it blocked.
Had to add an exception for FF7EC.exe
