In terms of story, Should I play this?
I have played FF7 up to her death.
I have not played FF7 Remake or Rebirth.

So, in terms of story, am ok to be playing this? Will it spoil things in FF7 Remake that don't happen in OG FF7?

so far the normal story does not tie into remake at all so it won't spoil it you just missed a remake event that spoiled a tad bit in rebirth the normal story is a slightly altered take on the og ff7 crisis core and i guess the first soldier not sure because i never got to play it

The First Soldier game itself didn't have a story, other than a barebones intro cinematic.

Plotwise, Ever Crisis will not spoil anything in Rebirth. There are a few narrative threads going on:

- An abridged version of OG FF7 and CC, with a few variations. Likely another timeline but it's close enough to the original to not matter much.
- An all new narrative with the First Soldier campaign, that likely all takes place in any timeline.
- Character side stories, some original, some expanding on already established lore (one is pulled straight from a novel)
- Events with a throughline plot involving portals and alternate dimensions. It's likely that all of these side stories happen on their own timeline as well, separate from any other established timeline.

Well, you got further than me. I have only finished the Nibelheim flashback scene when I played OG FF7.

My machine can currently neither play FF7 Remake nor Rebirth. But I will neither buy a new one nor a console just for the sake of the story. Instead, I'll read the wikis.

No. According to what many people have said in other threads, is that FF7EC doesn't really affect the story of Rebirth so much. Instead, Rebirth will "spoil" the ending of a certain character who was introduced in The First Soldier.

Otherwise, the stories of FF7 and CC are abridged versions of the original games, with some dialogue changes to fit with the updated canon. For example, Jessie discovered the SOLDIER P0-program after Avalanche's successful bombing of Mako Reactor #1, and told Cloud about it. He told her that he had never heard of it despite being in SOLDIER. That dialogue never took place in OG FF7, since SOLDIER P0 class didn't exist in the canon at that time.
