Racing games are made for people who like cars or racing or just want a fun competive game with friends.
gacha games are made to make you hate the game so much you spend money to make it less painful.
The mechanics and gameplay are designed around the gacha
I think the pricing is a perfectly valid complaint as we go into the holiday season. There's bugs in the app that have existed since day one that still haven't been fixed, but it was a priority to get this out and on steam in the holiday season to take advantage of peoples and children's Holiday Gifts of things like refillable credit cards or steam wallet cards.
It's a time waster with very little replay-ability outside of just grinding the same 3 battles over and over or grinding the events til you're sick of the game and just walking away with battles on auto. The amount of gameplay where you control characters and actually explore is minuscule in comparison to the endless 3 stage battles you'll be leaving on auto after the first couple days.
That's still better than just "This game is bad becase Gacha"
I guess what i'm saying is that everyone coming into this game should already know that much.
Better things to comment about would be: Compared to other Gacha games, is it better? worse? how's the story? is it fun? can you complete events free to play? how are the game mechanics? is it generous with crystals? does it value your time? is there a pity system? What new things does it bring to the table? etc.
Now that dlc is a steal in comparison to what the mobile gaming market spawned.
I get it, I don't even disagree. But It was pretty inevitable. And... hear me out... you can still have a LOT of fun with these as free to play.
Gacha is ♥♥♥♥, plain and simple. Don't defend a company who does not care who you are or what you are.
Replace "gacha" with "NFT" and you'd be saying something different. Bottom line is, it's bull and these types of games are always just a way to separate you from your money. Yes, you should trash it JUST because it's gacha.
pay to win gacha is invasive when its taking over known flagship games or being offered as the only option. FFVII Remake and Rebirth are the main games. PLAY THOSE. this a diversionary spinoff that you can easily play for free if you want to.
You know what was terrible? when Star Wars Battlefront II became a gacha when every game before it wasnt. there was no option there. here there is.
Of course you can. People can complain about what ever they want to about a Game. Especially if its not the Type of Game Play or Monetization they expected. I Criticize that the FF Games after 10 are no longer Turn Based. I especially HATE how 16 became a Devil May Cry Lite with VERY little RPG to it.
I fail to understand why people feel the need to Defend Monetization in a Game. Complaining about Criticism (Yes Complaints about Monetization is Criticism) just leads to Fans fighting. Stop trying to Censor others Criticism.
Also just gonna throw this out here:
Star Wars Battlefront II- People hated because gacha invaded their historically non gacha game
Diablo Immortal- People hated because gacha game *replaced* what everyone was hoping was going to be the next main game.
Final Fantasy Ever Crisis- supplemental game. FFVII, FFVII Remake, FFVII Rebirth are all on their own untouched by gacha, This is just a simple, time killing, money plundering, greedy cash grab game (if you choose to spend), that at the same time is a celebration of all things FFVII. It can be enjoyed or not, but its totally optional, aimed at fans that want more. The main games are still being made, exist, and are non gacha.
