Forza Horizon 6

I feel like every car slips through corners and ends up in me hitting walls.
First of all: yes I'm aware, skill issue.

The thing is I'm used to The Crew: Motorfest where i feel like i have a ton of control over my cornering, i have a real sense of when I'm to fast or when i can hit my handbreak to drift through a corner, and i have Nitro so i can adjust for my mistakes.

Now I've only played FH6 for 2 hours but i feel like i just don't have the same control? Is this something that could be resolved by tuning? I'd love to hear your thoughts, i don't know much about cars so I'm not to sure how to properly explain what I'm feeling.

Every car i drove in my 2 hours of FH6 just felt like really slippy when i turned corners ( I'm not in anyway saying motorfest is better, thats not the point of this post )

Any advice would be appreciated, kind of deciding wether tuning/different cars might fix this feeling or if i should opt for a refund.

you can change a lot of stuff in the difficulty settings , how your cars drive etc

try to activate traction control and stability control in settings/ difficulty

tuning can help but i haven't find any good tuning in cars during early access . they all go for max speed without any control of the car , maybe now with the game fully released it will change (you can do your own but i have never done it myself so idk how much you need to know about cars)

don't compare to the AI ; they cheat some much ; speed variation according to your position ; uses break literally 1 sec before a turn when they are at 300 km/h , etc
play with manual shifting and not auto it helps a lot
FH6 was said to be more slippery in tires and hence giving you the need to upgrade tires and downforce/handling. tuning does help, but not sure if it's enough for you
this game is a joke compared to crew motorfest
best thing i can suggest is learning to tune, even basics. also, go for suspension and handling upgrades before power. there is no point to the power if you cant put it to the ground.

i had a simple tuned car (i think in fh4, maybe 5) that was rear wheel drive and my buddy had the same car that was all wheel drive. he couldn't keep up with me. he switched to my tune and immediately started doing better.

i also play with all assists off, tho if really having issue, could try tinkering with those. also the driving line helps, i run with the braking one on normally.
It's the Forza handling model, just pretend the cars are boats, or are on roller skates rather than rubber tires. You can't fix it.
to be fair this isnt a racing sim its arcade so yeah issues with handling may happen`
I will say the cars are more floaty (less grip) than one normally sees in a racing game, luckily this game has the ability to do tuning to fix that.

In tuning there are a couple areas to get more grip (this is after getting parts like spoilers, better tires and race suspension).
- downforce, increase for more grip in high speed corners
- wheel caster/camber/toe in suspension. On the 2 cars i tuned for traction so far i ended around max caster, 0 toe, and about -0.7 for camber*.

*camber settings:
Open telemetry and navigate to the page that shows the actual camber or wheel angle to the road. Next keep that telemetry open and start driving, your goal is to set the camber so it goes near 0.0 when you are making a turn. Note that this effect/value is also dependant on anti roll bar and other suspension settings.

Besides grip there is oversteer (rear end wants to overtake the nose) and understeer (car won't turn and flies out the corner), these tend to be (in older horizon games) affected by the balance of the suspension and anti roll bars. Too much oversteer meant making the rear softer, understeer needs the front softer.

Not a full guide, look those up. But yhis should get you started.
The game has a oversteering issue, almost every car in the game wants to oversteer and slide.
Personally, in my case I feel like I oversteer a lot of the time and lose the rear with minimal input on the joystick.
Turning and upgrading helped a lot but it still seems like a car out of the box is extremely "floaty"compared to other games or FH entries , like even a small correction sends the car out of balance .
I saw some controller settings guides and these also helped as the dead zone still feels massive for a racing game .
Depending on the car and the tuning you can almost race like you are on railway tracks with excellent cornering. Spec cars can at times have horrible handling though and some of the cars the "story" throws at you drive like boats indeed. Or oil tankers... but if you get a good car and either tune it yourself or find a good tuning preset your driving experience will greatly improve.

The yellow wristband reward car (the BMW M2 Competition) with a good tuning has excellent handling, for example (this would be an A700 car) and is pretty stable in corners, You still need to know when to brake of course (and how to brake).
Have you tried upgrading the tires? It would help immediately without any complicated tuning.

You’d think you’d have more immediate Simple control if it was an arcade racer

No. Don't even bother going there.

If you have to constantly change 20 setup parameters on every single car, you can't use the arcade excuse anymore. And no, this is never optional.

The driving is terrible, the AI is atrocious. This game is completely broken in its current state. Granted, maybe a lot of people use assists and play on lower difficulties, then it might just not be a problem so they don't realize anything is wrong.
Same here, i feel like the cars in FH6 is very slippy campared to FH 5, i tried different tunes on many many cars, and it still feels the same, not gripping. Rally and off road cars are even worse
