Since the game is already Steam Deck Verified, it'll work with Linux distros.
It's marked Steam Deck compatible so it should run on any Linux distro in theory.
Ok brilliant thank you
Just check here tomorrow. They posted about requiring some "Gaming Services" on Windows so there is a chance it just straight up doesnt run on Linux with only an exception for the steam deck. We'll find out soon enough.

The Steam Deck or rather Steam OS is based on Arch Linux. If something runs as "Steam Deck Verified", it'll run on basically all popular Linux distributions.
Just to clarify cause the game say steam deck verified that does not mean it will work fine for any system on Linux out of the box.

Be ready to tweak and experiment to get it to work but there should not be any major breakage or issues expected or at at least nothing that wont be fixed in few hours by someone. The only exception to this rule is if you are using Nvidia as in that case never use Steam Deck verified status as a sign of things working for you.
Steam Deck verified means it will run on Linux. However that's not a guarantee it will work on "your" PC but it should at least be 80% likely.

it says steamdeck verified which steams big picture is steamos on windows, which steamos is based on arch linux which is a linux based system which in term works on every version of linux,

so the only thing that wont work on linux but would just work fine on windows(im serious with this one go open big picture it straight up says steamos on launch) is hitting play,
on linux one needs to do alot more then to just hit compat layer proton boom(linux isnt as simple as windows)
so when you said chance it straight up doesnt run, youre right about that,
because again im a linux(steamdeck) user and sometimes i have to launch through terminal to find my issue with said game even though im on ge proton and regular valve proton,
so yeah

so when release hits thats only way we would 100% know for sure
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Just in case it doesn't work
Thanks. Guys
Fingers crossed
I must be a unicorn or the luckiest bastard alive then. Maybe FH6 will be my first modern non-competitive, multiplayer, Steam Deck "Playable" +, game that doesn't run by simply setting Proton compatibility.

Also, I'm running a NGreedia GPU on top of that.

If you're having trouble launching FH6, just have a look at protondb.com

I've managed to get every game to run using that website so far.
I tried for 4 hours last night to get FH6 to run on Bazzite and while the game itself would run any time I would try to start the game or run the benchmark it would crash, seems the nvidia drivers in bazzite need to be updated for it to work because it was giving a video card crash error (the game is working fine in Windows with the same hardware)
Forza Horizon 6 works on Proton out of the box with Bazzite. Though it may launch with a black screen with me having to click back into it to see video. But other than that it runs well.

Yep you are right...

I'm trying things the whole day and managed to play 2hours straight without crashes.

These are my launch options, which I use. The crashing is still there...but not frequently, but occassionally:

PROTON_VKD3D_HEAP=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv,single_queue WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b;steam_api64=n,b" %command%

I hope nvidia brings fast FH6 optimized linux drivers, because version 595.71.05 is just useless.
