Physics, weight transfer, inertia etc
I noticed that the physics model in this game seems very similar to FH4 but I noticed that it seems to lack any sort of weight transfer or camera inertia when taking corners. It feels like all cars are light and have no weight to them compared to FH5. But FH5 cars seemed to always understeer a lot unless tuned a lot. In FH4 most stock cars handled really well and had better grip compared to FH5 and FH4 also seemed to have better soft suspension physics. But FH4 still seems to have much better inertia and weight transfer and vehicles seem to have a bit of weight to them compared to FH6 footage. It might be just how the visuals look. It's just that it feels more like Crew Motorfest physics/handling where cars have no weight to them when cornering. However in Motorfest the cars understeer mostly in corners but in FH6 they always seem to oversteer and I've never seen the vehicles struggle when taking tight corners. Like even in the footage with Saleen S7 LM, the car seems to take corners like it's a tuner car. In Forza Motorsport the Saleen S7 LM is very hard to corner and it is a beast to drive and requires a lot of tuning, patience and effort. It doesn't corner like a tuner car. Did someone else notice this or am I overthinking? I am still very excited for FH6 and cannot wait.

It's the same physics.

Same as FH4 or FH5?
Forza does a surprisingly decent job at simulating all these physics aspects. The problem is when you tune your car, it turns into a full blown arcade racer. Cars feel like slot cars and can take turns at unrealistic speeds. It's why I leave my cars suspension, tires, aero (if available) and weight stock.
You never can tell unless you tried the car handling. Video can tell you nother or be deceptive.

Yeah I leave some of my cars stock as well. A majority of my other cars I tune it very lightly. I don't try to max out on power. I just try to add just enough power if required and add some handling parts but try to keep the original feel of the suspension etc. That is if a car felt heavy then I won't add weight reduction to make it light. I'll just tune some of aspect to make it turn enough while still feeling very heavy. I love tuning classic muscle cars this way especially.

Yeah it does feel a bit deceptive. I looked at a lot more different videos yesterday and it does seem to have weight. Maybe it's just that the cars have too much grip being stock. I did see some cars losing control and slamming the walls or barricades just a little but not as crazy as FH5. To me it feels very much like FH4 handling but more refined.

its not
It will be very close to fh5 which had improved physics over fh4 with less sliding and more grip. From the preview videos it looks like they maybe gave it a little more grip vs fh5 but dont expect a big upgrade. Forza will always be forza with all cars basicaly driving the same when upgraded similar because instead of giving every car its own handling all they do is create a base handling model that changes the handling based on values.
In The Crew Motorfest for example every car has its own handling and drives different.
Dont expect that in fh ever! With some luck we get decent sounds and car models XD.
FH5 was definitely different than FH4. Even though it was minimal. Cars felt slightly better planted on the ground, and at least with a wheel, it was much more refined.

My only complain is the vast majority of cars have way too much grip out of the box. This is even more evident on snow and wet surfaces.

The way they feel on snow is so ridiculously grippy, it makes snow feel like just a cosmetic for the track and not something that affects the handling, as it should.
Most cars feel off because of the unified handling model by forza games. They do it to cut cost but still charge a AAA price.
FH5 vs 4 was alot more driveable with RWD cars even when putting some horsepower into them. FH4 was only playable on those cars with AWD.
Will be interesting to see how they want to do the balance between grip and drift because both are very very big in japan and i dont see it working out well.

It really depended on your set up.

I'm still playing FH4 and have had no issues tuning for RWD and FWD. I of course prefer AWD, but am fine with the others as well. Between FH5 and FH4, the only real difference that I feel is the grip, but most of that is due to the upgraded tire class in FH5. My setups in FH4 worked just fine in FH5 and vice versa, although I have to account for the slightly downgraded tires.

edit:
Plus I play on keyboard if that helps.

RWD were 100% playable in both games. I never did those dumb AWD swaps and never used any tire above what the car came with. I also played both games exclusively with a wheel with all assists off.

I'm far from the best, but with practice, it becomes second nature.

If I wanted grip for specific races, I would use an offroad/rally car. For everything else, any car would do.
