Drift zones
It was a good time in FH5

Now I hate them with all my heart in FH6

I've tried tons of different cars, going slowly, going fast, enabling assists, disabling them, but nothing works. For some areas, getting 3 stars seems to require a PhD in drifting

I hate them so much

Some of them are fun but then Red Road makes me want to uninstall. :steamfacepalm:

Edit: Nah, nevermind. I only had fun on accident. They're either dead easy BS or impossible BS. Every single one of these things can suck my ass.
Combined with all the other annoying little bugs, I think I'll wait a long time before touching the game again.

(They released a 1GB patch yesterday to fix the issue with the photo distinction not unlocking, but the bug is still there :lunar2019madpig: )
Totally feel the same. I like drifting in races, but I hate drift zones, still have 4 left that I didn't manage to 3star yet. Motivation is not exactly strong here. However, one thing that really helped me to squeeze out a couple of thousand points is that the score zone extends way beyond the dz-flags. Drifting further out = more distance = more points. Maybe this helps a little.
I've gotten 3 stars on every drift zone aside from one, a touge route in the bottom left section of the map, cant remember the name of it.

From what I can tell points are calculated by how fast you go and how sideways you are.
Also don't use AWD for drifting, a lot of people do this and it just doesn't work.

What are you on bro, all top 1% tunes are AWD..

An AWD drift tune makes the drift unstable and pulls you straight instead of letting you slide sideways. I have never seen and experienced a successful AWD drift amongst myself or my friends since Motorsport 3

I suggest you look on YT for top drift score then, you'll see by yourself. One of the meta cars in FH6 is the 370z formula drift and it's AWD

Look, I'm just offering advice based on my own personal experience. Neither I, nor anyone I know, has been able to use AWD for drifting. Maybe some people can. In that case they can take themselves to the player created tunes and find something that works for them.

I'm here to offer advice, not argue

AWD drift tunes send very little power to the front axle, usually only 3-5% and on wide open differentials to prevent that. The AWD component is basically just an anti-spin out insurance.

Again, I'm just speaking from my own experience. Ive never been able to use an AWD tune, nor has anyone I know. Thats counting our own tunes and community made. The front wheels always seem to hook and pull the car straight
I don't understand. All the written advice says that speed earns more points, but when I watch videos, I see people going slowly to make as many zigzags as possible

Does anyone know the exact rules?

I don't think I have many more attempts left before I curse this game forever

It's all good bro, I just added a counter argument because you said "don't use AWD bc it doesn't work" which is factually false ahah, RWD is more fun and more rewarding i'll tell you that, but yea that's another topic

Open diffs? That sounds counterintuitive.
Drift zone measures your points in distance travelled, and cancels the event if you moved away or went off the road.

Basically there is only 1 narrow road you could use the entire way, and its not like you can drift combo to make the score spike up more right?

Not in the rear, of course, only in the front. But I'm not an expert in drift tuning, my heart is just not in it. I think closed diffs in the front would create a bigger "straighten out" effect than open ones. Still counterintuitive? Please explain if you know better.
