Torque & Spade

Good afternoon, this is my first time posting here. I have a question!
Are Torque and Spade ever going to be released? Or they dropped it?
I just checked the kickstarter and they were one of the earliest goals.

I hope so... Spade looks badass, I really want to play as him. Since they announced the 2nd game I had my doubts if he's going to be released

I think they are still working on it. The team got reduced to one developper for FP1, and he just can't work on it full time.
Most of the team already switched to FP2.

Due to revelaitons about FP1's engine not playing nice with additional content, it's looking like the plan is to seperate Torque and Spade from FP1 and put them into their own (likely somewhat smaller scale) game or two. I'd be surprised if it came out before FP2 though.

Torque's already playable via the Steam beta (but Strife doesn't like how he plays much). Spade is playable via the Steam demo beta; but getting that is a wrangled mess that I have little clue about. Others do, though. He's not liked much anyway because his moves are pretty powerless.

I'll check that out. I see some people recorded videos playing with those 2, I thought they hacked the game files to unlock the unfinished characters

Actually if they go standalone, the ironic bit would be that the scale would grow much bigger. Since we'd be designing entire short games around them instead of just inserting them into an existing game with an additional stage.

Hm, now that you mention it, you're right. Didn't really think of it in that way to be honest.

Oh, back in FP's development there were indeed hacked playable Spade & Torque, which were generally a) a buggy mess and b) disliked anyway.

Now we just have a legitimate way (if convoluted) of playing 'em.

Can't you just copy/paste existing levels into those games and make some adjustments to design to eliminate Spade and Torque gameplay problems?

Just saying. I'm not a backer, though I would like to see Spade and Torgue's story and play as them. So for me the best way (DLC or stand-alone) is the one that will bring them to players, eventually.

I saw a little of this on Youtube but never tickled my fancy enough to dive further into.

Couldn't tell you how excited I was finding Neera playable in FP2 as a default character, though.

i hope the Torque and Spade DLC are comming to steam after the release from FP2, i will try to play as Spade becasue the game is so cool, more characters more fun!!!
