Convert Sheet Music to Songs2See (Guide!)

So, for anyone looking to greatly expand their library: you can use the following (free and open source) programs to convert any PDF sheet music over.

Audiveris - https://audiveris.kenai.com/
Sheet Music OCR. Produces MusicXML files. (The Songs2See editor had an error when trying to read the exported MusicXML, however). Comes with a plugin for launching MuseScore.

MuseScore - http://musescore.org/
Sheet Music Editing. Reads MusicXML files and can export to MIDI.

Some simple steps:
Audiveris:
1. Open the PDF file.
2. Click the Blue Arrow (Transcribe/refresh the whole score).
3. Select Plugins/MuseScore to open the converted MusicXML file.

MuseScore:
1. Select Display/Play Panel to bring up the Play Panel dialogue.
2. Adjust the tempo as desired.
3. (Optional) To merge the left and right hand tracks, follow this tutorial: http://musescore.org/en/node/12345
Note that when you exchange voices on the right hand track, it will automatically add a half rest in the middle of the bar which you'll need to select when pasting in the left hand track.
4. Save the file as a .mid.

Songs2See Editor:
1. Just import the .mid file and go from there.
2. If you didn't separate the left and right hand tracks, you'll have to export them separately.

Note that currently Songs2See doesn't support the bass cleff, and so will display the left hand on the treble clef (which may render lower notes invisible). Hopefully this will be supported soon!

With the most recent update, you should be able to import MusicXML created with audiveris. In addition, you can now play the left hand on piano in Songs2See Game as well.
