Clickteam Fusion 2.5

Clickteam Fusion 2.5

Extensions will not install correctly
I have the standard paid version of Clickteam Fusion 2.5, I understand extensions don't work on the free version. No matter which extension I want to install from the extension manager built into the software, they all are listed as "Re-install" and I am not able to use them. I did some research, and aparently this happens when the extension becomes corrupted; however, this happens every time I attempt to install any extension, regardless if I fully uninstall it and then install it again. I haven't been able to find any answers on the internet for this problem, or in any official or unofficial guides. Does anyone know what could be causing it and how it can be fixed?

This is normal, "re-install" is a simple link that allows you to reinstall it if for example the extension on your machine is outdated, or if you want to make sure it's correctly installed.

Don't you see them in the list when you add a new object in the frame? Even when Windows EXE is selected as build type in the properties of the application? (when you add a new object it only displays objects that are compatible with teh build type of the application)

PS: also what build of CF 2.5 do you use?

Build R285.8

I understand that re-install is for extensions that are outdated, but this is happening with new extensions I just installed for the first time. When I click re-install it goes into the process of installing, but just says "re-install" again.

I can't see the extensions in the add objects window or frame is because none of the extensions install correctly, even when I refresh both the extensions manager window and the add objects window.

Did you have another version of 2.5 (other than the free version) before you installed the paid version? I wonder if there could be a conflict. If so, uninstall Fusion, erase the local folder of Steam (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Clickteam Fusion 2.5) and reinstall it.

Otherwise, for example try to install or reinstall the Advanced Direction object, and then go to the local folder of CF 2.5, and check if AdvDir.mfx is in the Extensions folder. If so you should see it in the list.

I'll try reinstalling Fusion. I did rummage through the extensions folder before to see if the extensions were there, which they were as MFX files. The only version I had of 2.5 before the paid version was the free version, so that might explain the conflict. I didn't uninstall the free version until the paid version was on my computer. I'll get back after uninstalling Fusion and tell you if I had any luck.

I reinstalled Clickteam Fusion, and I went to install the platform movement object and the advanced direction object and still no luck, they are both listed as re-install. I went to the local folder in Steam and the extensions were there, but I still can't use them.

Manually delete the MFX, and then try to re-install them through the manager. If its still a no go after re-installing them, while still in your clickteam program folder right click mmfu and run as admin.

Didn't have any luck with those either.

Could you post a screenshot of the Insert New object dialog box? (stretch it to the maximum height)

This screen shot shows the objects that are included with the free version, or that are compatible with the free, limited HTML5 exporter that is included by default in the paid version. As you use the paid version, that means the build type of your application is set to "HTML5 limited version". Set the build type to Windows EXE in the properties of the application, you'll see the objects that you have installed.

Thank you, I thought I was using the EXE build type, but it was set to HTML5. The objects are available now.

Select the application in your workspace toolbar, i.e. "Application 1" and below that in the application properties there is a drop-down menu for build type.
